Past and present of chrysanthemum are described in two sections. First, production, consumption and trade flows in the world are analysed, regarding cut flowers, such as rose, carnation, and chrysanthemum at the first place. Especially the market positions of the Netherlands, and Colombia are highlighted, as top exporters in the world. The Netherlands is dominating trade in Europe, Colombia in North America. The main importing countries of chrysanthemum are the USA, Great Britain, and Japan. Malaysia is the top supplier of Japan. All main importing and exporting countries (50) are analysed by more than 230 tables, often from 2007 on, as normal year before the economic and financial crises of 2008/2009. In this way, trends in trade flows and production are provided. In the second section, the history and global spreading of chrysanthemum from China and Japan are described, illustrated by more than 200 pictures.
